March and April Photos

Mr Nap Skipper

He was face down 3 minutes later but then too upset about it to take a pic

Efficient kid storage

This kid loves her dogs

This puddle was pretty gross and filled with dead worms

Nobody seemed to mind but me

Dog costumes fit 1-3 year olds, btw

Not sure how much of Lyra's current obsession with vehicles is due to Moss's influence, but it's big

Double helix curl

Very much in a Daddy phase

Teamwork

This dissolved into an epic battle for bucket control not 5 minutes later

Ly does jewel tones

Don't wanna get up

Evenings with Moss

More mud. At least the drought is over-ish

Moss is enthralled by The Human Body Encyclopedia, Lyra is tired and manic but happy

Mr Naked the Younger

Moss started potty training this week. He's really gotten into it and is doing a near perfect job. Tonight after bath time, he dropped trou and announced that he was going to pee on his potty. The deed done, I picked up the bowl and started toward the bathroom.

"Moss, grab your shorts and come with me if you want to flush."

"NO! I DON'T WANT TO!"

Flushing had up to now been an exciting activity. Apparently that time has passed.

"Wait. Do you not want to grab your shorts or do you not want to flush?" I asked as he ran by me on his way toward the bedroom.

"I don't want to wear clothes." He stopped in the doorway and looked back over his shoulder with a wicked smirk. "I always want to be naked!" With that, he raised both hands high and slapped them in perfect sync down on his groin with none too subtle air of self satisfaction.

Puddin' Head

I recently learned how to make pudding. Suffice to say that I've made pudding a few times. In a completely unexpected turn of events, the kids f***ing love pudding.

Here we see Lyra doing her best impression of a gangster modeling the latest from Cafe Papa:

What do you mean "there's no more" deep breath "pudding"?
It's probably best for everyone if you go ahead and cook up a little more.
Look me in the eyes and understand that more pudding will be made because failure to do so would have consequences.
Seriously, pops. We can do this the easy way... or we can do this the hard way.
Ok, ok. I see that you need me to show sympathy. Let me assure you I will give mom all the sympathy she needs when I am done with you if you do not provide me with additional puddiny goodness.
Oh, I see, you "just found some more". Nice try to save face. You know where my bowl is.
Outward: Oh thankyouthankyouthankyou. I'm soooo sorry I threatened you with the exact things I'd do if you didn't give me some more pudding.
Inward: <I love it when a plan comes together, Sucker.>

Wagons West

I took Moss and Lyra to Columbia Park the other day in the wagon gifted us by Dean Daddy and Gigi.  We ran around, did dangerous things on the body-weight fitness trail equipment, and generally had a nice time on a beautiful day.

After hanging off the 7 foot rings, Moss decided he was down taking a back seat to the wagon action.  He climbed out and announced that he'd be pulling Ly from now on.

After trying several different configurations, he settled on the cutest damn thing he could have done.  Hi-yo, Mossy! Away!
