A month of firsts

We are in a sweet spot, to be sure.  Past the scream-y, never-ending-every-90-minute routine of newbornland, not quite to miserable teething or mischievous crawling.  No growth spurts, no one's sick, reliable naps and bedtimes abound.  And he found his laugh, which is just incomprehensibly, devastatingly adorable.  October is over, and I will miss it dearly.  So many firsts!  Commemorated for posterity:

First time curling up with a good book
some fine literature awaits me

 early literacy

clearly a page turner

what happens to the bad dog? I must know!

First time wearing the same outfit all day
the actual outfit on the actual day

this has never happened.  do we... just... leave it on?

First time in a real grown-up suit
yes, this happened.

so dapper

ready for his first job interview

First Halloween pumpkins

First time Daddy caved to Mommy's whining and tried the ring sling

First time spent looking forward for the duration of tummy time

First time successfully self-soothing all the way to sleep
turns out I'm a two finger sucker

...quickly followed by the second and beyond.

First time grabbing his foot
bah, just missed it

First time petting Aoro

It was also his first cold, which was just crummy, so let's try to forget that one.  November will bring its own firsts, including his first night in a crib and his first (milk made from) Thanksgiving dinner.  Hooray for life.  :)
